Welcome to the Choir's web site

All Saints' Church, Wokingham, in the Diocese of Oxford, has a choir of over thirty core and associate singers, of whom a dozen or so are trebles. The music sung is diverse, ranging from Tudor through to the present day. The Choir is affiliated to The Royal School of Church Music (RSCM) and in conjunction with the RSCM "Voice for Life" scheme, all trebles study for their ribbons, culminating in the Bishop's Awards.

The Choir has a very busy schedule. Its main task is helping to lead the worship of the Parish of All Saints. It will be found every week except during holidays singing at the Sunday morning Parish Communion. There is also a BCP Choral Evensong on the first Sunday of each month, a Sung Evensong on the second Sunday of the month, as well as a number of Choral Matins and Choral Eucharists during the year. Perhaps the best attended services of the whole year are the Candlelit Carol Service on Advent Sunday and the Christmas Eve Service of Nine Lessons and Carols.

In the last week of July each year the Choir sings a week of services in a cathedral. There are also a number of Saturday visits to cathedrals and other historic churches to sing choral evensong. The Choir has had very favourable comments from the staff of the cathedrals they visit and the pure sound of the trebles comes in for particular praise.

As well as singing, the Choir enjoys a number of social activities and, for the trebles, such events as swimming, bowling and visiting theme parks.

New members are always welcome. If you, or your son or daughter, love singing and would like to join us, please click here »

There is a Choir handbook available which is an invaluable source of information regarding the day-to-day running of the choir.
